Olden-day Digital

Here at Icon, we always enjoy a modern-day digital take on classic equipment, but even we're not sure what to make of the Rolleiflex MiniDigi camera. Those with a touch of nostalgia will appreciate the attention to detail in this miniature replica of the famous German Rollei Twin Lens Reflex Camera. But beneath the vintage visage beats the heart of a very un-analog, two-megapixel digital stills camera. Photos are stored on an SD memory card, but that hasn't stopped the makers incorporating a functioning "film-advance" hand crank that readies the camera for the next shot. Like the original, it also shoots pictures in a square format (1280 x 1280) and uses an F2.8 fixed lens. Visit www.rollei.jp/e/pd/minid.html for a blast from the past.
